AEK & AEL dominate in the first legs
The first two Cypriot teams to compete in this year’s Europa League, AEK and AEL, earned emphatic victories over Saint Joseph’s and Lincoln Red Imps as they can both begin preparations for the next qualifying round.

AEL Limassol visited Portugal to face Saint Joseph's from Gibraltar and came away with an easy 0-4 victory. Arruabarrena opened the scoring in the 4th minute for the visitors and the 0-1 score remained until halftime. AEL went into the second half determined to finish the job as Mesca doubled their lead six minutes after the restart. Lafrance scored two goals within six minutes (65’, 71’) to give his side a 0-4 victory before next week’s second leg in Cyprus. Highlights can be found here.
AEK Larnaka put together a five star performance to defeat the Lincoln Red Imps at home and will have an easy visit next week in Gibraltar for the second leg. Tolemes scored the only goal in the first half but the Larnakeis put the tie away in the second 45 minutes. Joan Tomas scored twice, Tolemes added his second, and a spot kick from Trickovski shaped the final 5-0 win for the hosts.
