AEK BC sign American guard Ray
This Saturday, AEK BC have continued bolstering their ranks, securing the signature of Kendrick Ray.
AEK released this following statement:
“Today (10/08), AEK BC announces that a contract has been signed with Kendrick Ray until the end of the 2019/2020 season.”
Ray, 25, joins arrives in Athens after spending the 2018/2019 season on the books of Maccabi Tel Aviv. The American point guard was sent out on loan to Le Mans for the second half of the campaign.
In an interview with AEK, Ray shared his emotions from the transfer:
“I have come to AEK for trophies. A team doesn’t sign good players and talented players don’t go to a team which doesn’t have a goal of winning titles. I know the history of AEK, and in the 2017/2018 season, I played against them for Nymburk and scored 30 points at the OAKA Indoor Hall. It didn’t take long for me to accept the AEK proposal. I want to succeed here and become a part of AEK’s history.”
Ray began his professional career with Nymburk in 2017. He subsequently won the 2018 Czech double before transferring to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
