AEK’s Round of 16 tie in the FIBA Basketball Champions League hasn’t gotten off on the right foot after a shock defeat in Athens on Wednesday night…
AEK have all to do in the second leg of their Round of 16 FIBA Basketball Champions League tie after a shock 98-88 defeat to Nymburk at OAKA on Wednesday night.
A slow start to the night saw AEK down by 16 points by halftime, which the Enosi tried to comeback from in the second half; however, the task at hand turned out to be too much of an ask for the Greek Cup Champions.
Manny Harris led AEK with 23 points on the night, but the American’s effort went to waste as AEK’s offense was made to pay for a slow start.
It was another American who stole the show at OAKA as Nymburk’s Kendrick Ray put up a stunning 30 points to lead Nymburk to a surprise 10-point lead heading into next week’s return leg in the Czech Republic.
AEK will hope they can overturn the deficit with a spot in the quarter-finals on the line, but a domestic clash with Koroivos is up next for Dragan Sakota’s men on Saturday.
