Anagennisi Karditsas where the sixth and final team to be relegated to the Gamma Ethniki after tasting a bitter, late defeat to Aris. The dagger came in the second minute of second half stoppage time when Karditsa goalkeeper Gelas brought down Pasas in the penalty area resulting in a spot kick for Aris. From 11-meters, Lottas found the back of the net to give Aris the 0:1 victory and as a result, send Anagennisi Karditsas down to the Gamma Ethniki. Sparti, who also were defeated on Sunday away to OFI, avoided the drop thanks to Lottas’ late goal.

Scenes of disappointment followed in Karditsa as the local side were just minutes away from safety and a place in the next year’s Second Division (a goalless draw would have keep Anagennisi in the division). Aris finish in second place, just one point behind the champions OFI, and will finally compete in the SuperLeague for the first time since 2014.

Joining Anagennisi Karditsas in the third division are Acharnaikos, Veria, Kallithea, Panserraikos, and Panegialios.

Aiginiakos, who were doomed for the Gamma Ethniki, avoided relegation despite falling to Panachaiki 0:2 on the final matchday of the Football League. Antonakopoulos and Kinigopoulos found the back of the net for the visitors, who claimed third place in the standings in an overall successful campaign. The Patra side will now begin preparations for next year, where the goal will be promotion to the SuperLeague.

In other action, Apollon Larissas defeated AE Karaiskakis 3:1 while a seven-goal thriller in Serres, saw Doxa Dramas defeat Panserraikos 3:4. On Friday, Ergotelis took down Trikala 0:3 on the road in an indifferent match for the league standings.

Apollon Pontou and Panegialios were awarded three points against Acharnaikos and Veria, who have withdrawn from the league.
