Bakasetas officially joins Alanyaspor on three-year deal
As expected, Tasos Bakasetas has officially joined Alanyaspor, penning a three-year contract with the Turkish side after AEK accepted a bid of 800,000 euros for the attacker.
Bakasetas, who can play either on the wing or as a second striker, has been on the books of AEK since 2016 after transferring from Panionios. Earlier this year, he penned a new contract with AEK through to 2022 after initially being ostracized from the team, but the Kitrinomavri have taken the decision to cash in on the 25-year-old this summer.
According to reports, AEK have received 800,000 from Alanyaspor for Bakasetas, a figure which will later rise to one million after bonuses. In the 2019/2020 season, Bakasetas was due to earn 400,000 at AEK, but he will have a yearly salary of 500,000 at Alanyaspor in Turkey.
Alanyaspor confirmed his arrival with this following statement:
“Our Board of Directors can confirm the transfer of Anastasios Bakasetas from Greek team AEK Athens. The 25-year-old has signed a contract with our club for three years at a ceremony held at the Alanyaspor Cengiz Aydoğan Facilities.”
Bakasetas commented on the transfer:
“I am very happy to sign for Alanyaspor. This is a new stage in my life. I thank everyone who works in this club. Ever since I came here, everyone has shown me how much they want me to sign for this club. I will give 100% for Alanyaspor. One of my best friends, Georgios Tzavellas, has been playing here for 2.5 years and I know the league and team well having spoken to him nearly every day. I watched some matches last year. I think the Turkish league is very interesting.”
In the 2018/2019 season, Bakasetas played in 30 matches across all competitions for AEK, contributing with six goals and two assists. Bakasetas has also made 21 appearances for the senior Greek national team.
Alanyaspor is home to former Greek international Georgios Tzavellas and also has the likes of Lucas Villafanez (ex Panathinaikos and Panetolikos player) and Djalma Campos (ex PAOK player). Up until December 2018, Giannis Maniatis also played for the Alanya-based club.
Erol Bulut is currently the head coach at Alanyaspor who, like Bakasetas, has enjoyed a spell at Panionios in his playing career. Bulut also played for Super League giants Olympiacos.
