Platanias held firm in second place after demolishing Aiginiakos 0:5 on the road. Goals from Weiss (29), Loukinas (36), Papoutsogiannopoulos (63), and Miguel (73, 90) gave Platanias their fourth consecutive league victory, moving them up to 49 points from 27 matches. Closest contenders, Apollon Larissa, sit with 45 points and will play on Sunday at home to Trikala. Aiginiakos were handed their 19th loss of the season and were mathematically relegated to the Greek fourth division (a two division drop after the restructuring of Greece’s football league). The club from Aiginio sit on 16 points from 27 games and trail 12th placed Trikala by 13 points, a total that cannot be overturned with three games remaining.

Ergotelis and Iraklis played to a 1:1 in Crete, a result that does not benefit either side. After a goalless first half, Ergotelis pulled ahead with eleven minutes remaining when Mazoulouxis found the back of thet net, but the visitors quickly pulled level through Cleyton four minutes later. The result leaves Ergotelis five points behind Cretan rivals Platanias while Iraklis are two points behind 10th placed AE Karaiskakis, who have a game in hand (travel to Apollon Pontou on Sunday). Iraklis will have their eyes on tenth place with three games remaining, as it assures the club’s place in next year’s Super League 2 (second tier) as opposed to an 11th or 12th place finish which leads to a place in next years Football League (third tier).

Panachaiki were held to a 1:1 draw by league winners Volos NFC and sit seven points behind Platanias with three games remaining. The Patra side, who host Platanias next week, will likely have to wait until next season to contest promotion to the Super League. Volos opened the scoring in the 41st minute through Kokoris before Loumbardeas equalized with nine minutes remaining.

Doxa Dramas moved into ninth with 39 points after easily defeating relegated Sparti 0:7 on the road. The Laconia side played with 10-men due to the financial issues that plague the club.

Kerkyra defeated Irodotos 2:0 to move up to 41 points in eighth place. Irodotos, who are hoping to avoid a two-division drop, are in 13th with 28 points, just one point behind Trikala (have one game in hand and play away to Apollon Larissa on Sunday).
