Kerkyra celebrated an emphatic 6-1 victory over Sparti, their first three points of their 2017/18 Greek Cup campaign. The match was put out of reach by the 34th minute mark as Vargas (9), Gromitsaris (28), and Kontos (34) put Kerkyra ahead 3-0. Sparti managed to pull one back in the 36th minute through Bellis, however three second half goals from the hosts (Georgiou 55’, Bauman 67’, 90’) gave the Faikes a 6-1 win.

The result moves Kerkyra to three points in the standings along with Trikala and Atromitos. Sparti’s performance was troublesome before the Football League kicks off this weekend having suffered two losses in Cup play.

Like Kerkyra, PAS Giannina recorded their first win in the Cup with an easy 3-0 scoreline over Panegialios. The Epirotes took the lead in the 31st minute with Nikolias as Skondras (50) and Conde (67) added goals in the second half for the hosts. To the delight of coach Yiannis Petrakis, Pedro Conde returned after his injury to the action and also managed to find the back of the net.

Giannina lead the group with 4 points while Panegialios remain without points. Aris and Panionios will round up the group’s matchday 2 action on Wednesday.

Levadiakos’ great form from league play was transferred over to the Cup as they thrashed Aiginiakos 5-0. Obiora opened the scoring at the end of the first half before the hosts scored FOUR second half goals with Kapsaskis (2), Belghazouani, and Nikas. The team from Livadeia sit on three points along with PAOK and Apollon Pontou, who matchup tomorrow.

Lamia made it a perfect 5-0 record for the Superleague sides on Tuesday after their narrow 1-0 victory over Kallithea. Wanderson’s 70th minute goal separated the sides at the final whistle to give Lamia their first win in group play. The result puts Lamia back in the game for a top-2 finish as Kallithea have zero points from their opening two matches, mathematically eliminating them from the competition.
