Borja Jimenez Saez appointed new coach of Asteras Tripolis
Asteras Tripolis have confirmed that Spanish manager, Borja Jimenez Saeza, has become their new head coach, replacing the departed Georgios Paraschos.
Asteras Tripolis released the following statement on their official web page:
“Asteras Tripolis FC announces the appointment of Spanish manager Borja Jiménez Sáez. The new manager of our club was born in the city of Avila in Spain on the 21st of January 1985.
In his current coaching career he has worked at Spanish teams Real Valladolid B, CD Izarra, Club Rapido de Bouzas και CD Mirandes.”
In his first interview as Asteras’ coach, Jimenez stated that he is happy to be in Tripoli and thanked the club for their persistence to sign him. He sees a great opportunity at Asteras, to coach a first division team in Greece, while working for the first time outside of Spain.
The 34-year-old will look to lead the Arkades to a much better season compared to the last campaign. Asteras just barely escaped relegation last season and will hope to contest a place in Europe under Jimenez’ leadership.
Jimenez is just the second Spanish coach in Asteras Tripolis’ history.
