Panathinaikos guard Nick Calathes has been named the EuroLeague MVP for the month of March after helping the Trifylli climb back into the playoff race last month.

Calathes’ efforts helped steer Panathinaikos to a 4-1 record in March with several vital performances lifting Panathinaikos to key victories in Moscow and Milan most notably.

Averaging 14.6 points, 10.2 assists, and 6 rebounds per contest in the month of March, Calathes managed three double-doubles as Panathinaikos climbed back into a playoff spot heading into the final slate of regular season fixtures.

Calathes’ heroics helped secure an unlikely win in Russia against CSKA Moscow as the Greek international notched a game-winning three-pointer to hand Panathinaikos a surprise win in the Russian capital.

Meanwhile, Calathes’ 27 points and 14 assists against AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan on 22 March helped secure MVP of the Round honours for the first time this season.

Calathes will look to continue his strong form from last month when Panathinaikos host Buducnost VOLI Podgorica on Thursday night with a win securing a playoff berth for the Trifylli.
