Chavos extends contract with Lamia
Makis Chavos will continue his coaching career in Lamia for one more season after signing a new deal with the club on Wednesday.
After a successful campaign with Lamia, Makis Chavos will continue with the Kyanolefki for another season. The Macedonian coach signed a one-year contract extension with Lamia and the club released an official statement on Wednesday.
Chavos led Lamia to their best season in club history where they claimed seventh place in the 2018/19 Super League standings with 37 points. Chavos took charge of Lamia in September 2018 and recorded 13 wins, 12 draws, and 12 loses from 37 games across all competitions. Lamia also made a great run to the semi-finals of the Greek Cup by taking down both Panathinaikos and Olympiacos on the way before falling to AEK.
The Fthiotida club will now turn their attention to the roster for the new season with the contracts of multiple players set to expire this summer. Some players will be offered contract renewals while others will be released as free agents. The signing of new players will also take top priority, however the scouting department will have a challenge at hand as the budget for this summer will be lower compared to last summer.
