Two fan favorites over recent years, Chori Dominguez and Esteban Cambiasso will not be wearing the Erythrolefki jersey next season. The two Argentinians were informed today that their contracts will not be renewed with the club and the two will look to continue their career elsewhere. Both players would like to remain in Greece with newly promoted Apollon Smyrnis hoping to pull off the big surprise and sign one or both players for the upcoming season. A recent report also mentioned Panionios’’ interest in the players.
Despite reports stating that Omar Elabdellaoui will continue in England with Marco Silva’s Watford (was on loan at Hull since January), the Norwegian international looks as if he will remain in Greece for Olympiacos. Elabdellaoui was a highly consistent and valuable asset for the Olympiacos defense before his departure and injury (out for 6 months), playing in the right back position.
In contrast, Andreas Bouchalakis will be loaned out after three seasons with Olympiacos. The future of Greece international Manolis Siopis will be up to new coach Besnik Hasi if he is to remain with the club or be loaned out.  The final decision will likely come after the first stage of preseason training.
Today was the club’s first meeting for pre-season training with the following players present: Botia, Bouchalakis, Choutesiotis, Cisse, de la Bella, Doumanis, Figueiras, Koutris, Marin, Martins, Megaritis, Risvanis, Romao, Seba, Skafidas, Toli, Vergos, Viana, Vrousai, and Kasami. All internationals were absent as they were given additional days to rest after playing in qualifying fixtures last week.
Fourteen players were cut from pre-season training and have been given ample time to find another team to continue their careers with a permanent transfer or a loan deal. This list includes: Siovas (likely to sign with Leganes in Spain), Pardo (was on loan at Nantes), Martinez (on loan in Australia), Goutas (on loan at Kortrijk), Karamanos (on loan at Feirense), Zdjelar (on loan at Malaga since January), Asigba (on loan at Veria), Tzandaris (on loan in Slovenia), Kargas (on loan at Platanias), Karageorgis (on loan at Kalloni), Tsimikas (on loan at Esbjerg), Saliakas (on loan at Karmiotissa in Cyprus), Laci (on loan at Levadiakos), and Vouros (on loan at Levadiakos).
The team will depart for Seefeld, Austria in the coming days for the first stage of pre-season training.
