On Thursday evening, reports appeared in the media stating that Coentrao, 31, will arrive in Thessaloniki tomorrow to complete his PAOK transfer. At the moment, Coentrao is a free agent after leaving Rio Ave, and he has reportedly agreed to sign a two-year contract with the reigning Greek champions. PAOK see him as an ideal replacement for the injured Vieirinha.

The experienced left-back will undergo his medical examinations and sign the paperwork in Thessaloniki on Friday. Coentrao will then immediately be sent to join the team at the pre-season training camp in the Netherlands after signing his contract.

Coentrao was on the books of Real Madrid between 2011 and 2018, winning La Liga, the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de Espana. Coentrao was loaned to AS Monaco and Sporting Lisbon before joining Rio Ave on a permanent basis in August 2018.

He gained five assists in the 2018/2019 Liga NOS season for Rio Ave. Transfermarkt rates his value at 2.5 million euros.

BRADARIC LINK

PAOK have also been heavily linked with Filip Bradaric of Cagliari in the last few days.

Bradaric, 27, currently plays his football in Italy with Cagliari. According to reports, PAOK have come to terms with the Croatian midfielder himself, but Cagliari are requesting at least five million for the player. Negotiations are continuing between the clubs.

The Croat transferred to Cagliari in the summer of 2018 after catching the eye at Hajduk Split, Primorac 1929 and HNK Rijeka. In the past season, Bradaric competed in 27 Serie A games for Cagliari, contributing with two assists. He is most comfortable when playing as a defensive midfielder.
