Alki were victorious on the road over Doxa with a narrow 0:1 scoreline. Ruca’s stunning free kick in the 28th minute separated the sides at the final whistle, giving the visitors all three points to elevate them into 8th place. Doxa remain in the 7th place, four points ahead of their weekend opponents.
Anorthosis prevailed with a 3:1 victory over Ethnikos to remain within four points of the league leaders, APOEL. Duglao and Shehu put the hosts ahead with a two goal lead in the 49th and 59th minutes, respectively before Elia’s 62nd minutes goal pulled one back for Ethnikos. Camara’s netted deep in the game to seal the result for the Famagusta side as they continue to contest this year’s league title.
Salamina moved out of the relegation zone after a 3:0 home win over an out-of-form Pafos side. Carlao opened the scoring in the 22nd minute as Correia (72) and Thiago’s (87) second half goals capped off a great evening for the hosts. Pafos, who began the season very well, retreated to 10th spot and are now just four points clear of the relegation zone.
Apollon grabbed a slender 0:1 road win over local rivals Aris. In a game that saw the Galazioi of Limassol share the better portion of possession and chances, it was Schembri’s 23rd minute goal that gave the visitors all three points. Apollon are now 2nd just two points behind APOEL before the two teams match up twice in the next two weeks (the first on Wednesday in a postponed game from earlier this season). Aris remain in 13th place, four points behind Olympiakos.
Ermis thrashed Olympiakos 4:0 to record an emphatic home victory. The final score was formed in the first half as Taralidis, Artabe and Martynyuk (2) each netted in the opening 45 minutes for the hosts. Ermis moved into 9th while Olympiakos’ disappointing performance saw them fall back into the relegation zone (12th).
