Dream debut for Zeca with Copenhagen
Carlos Zeca had a dream debut with his new club, FC Kobenhavn, scoring his side’s fourth goal in a 4-3 win over Midtjylland.
Carlos Zeca made his first start with his new club, FC Kobenhavn, after moving over from Panathinaikos late in the summer transfer window. He was immediately given a spot in the starting XI, playing as a center midfielder in a 4-4-2 formation, in Sunday’s league fixture against Midtjylland.
Kobenhavn’s first goal started from Zeca, who stole the ball in the midfield, and led to a tremendous goal by Cypriot striker Pieros Sotiriou. With the scores at 3-2 in favor of Copenhagen, Zeca added his name to the score sheet with a close-ranged header to give his side a two-goal advantage in the 63rd minute, which proved to be the winner in the end. Kobenhavn went on to win the match with a 4-3 scoreline as they sit in sixth place in the league after eight games.
It has been a great week for the Greece international who also scored on international duty in Greece’s 1-2 loss to Belgium in World Cup qualifying last week. Zeca had gone 994 days without a goal and in one week’s time, has found the back of the net on two occasions.
