After a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Bursa in Greece for the first leg, Olympiacos looked to finish the job in Turkey in today’s second leg.
The powerhouse Bursa, however, took control of the game early on and comfortably won the first set 25-15. It was a similar story in the second set as the hosts dominated the Greek side to win 25-16 and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
The third set saw Olympiacos put up a great fight managing to hold a small advantage in the set, however Bursa were clearly too strong for the Erythrolefkes and the hosts celebrated this year’s Challenge Cup title with a 25-23 set win.
Although the Olympiacos women’s volleyball team failed to claim their first European Title, there is no doubt it was a successful season and a tremendous run in this year’s competition.
