Fetfatzidis looking for next career stop
Giannis Fetfatzidis’ contract with Al Ahli was terminated and the Greek winger is in search for a new career stop.
Fetfatzidis has enjoyed life in Saudi Arabia since 2015 when he moved to Al Ahli from the Serie A’s Genoa. The Greek winger has been one of Al Ahl’s star players since joining the club, making 67 appearances with 15 goals scored, and many more assists to his name. He recently signed a contract extension through 2019, however, according to Greek newspaper Ora ton Spor, Fetfatzidis’ contract was terminated and is now a free agent to sign on with a new club.
The same report mentions AEK’s interest in the player while additional reports state that Olympiacos are keen on signing their former player. Although it looks as if Fetfatzidis might return back to Greece to play club football, his new team will be expected to dish out a high valued contract to the 27-year old. In Saudi Arabia, Fetfatzidis was earning between 1-1.5 million Euro a season, an amount much higher than the current Greek standard.
