Action in the Cypriot 1st Division continued this weekend with five games. APOEL-AEL and Apollon-Omonoia were postponed because of midweek responsibilities in the Champions and Europa League and will be rescheduled for a later date. 

Ethnikos Achnas hosted Pafos FC and managed to cruise to a 3-0 win. Kipiani opened the scoring in the 4th minute before Charalambous doubled Ethnikos’ lead before halftime. In the second half, Kipiani formed the final 3-0 scoreline with his second of the game concluding an a unwelcoming return to the 1st Division for Pafos. 

Aris Limassol and Nea Salamina played to a 1-1 draw in Limassol. Markos Maragoudakis gave the hosts a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute to send his side ahead at the break. Aris dominated the early stages of the second half, but Salamina responded and equalized with Kyprianou. The visitors pushed on to complete the comeback , but Aris held on for a point as the match ended in a 1-1 draw. 

AEK Larnaka played their first league game of the season after being eliminated from the Europa League to Austria Wien. The Larnakeis hosted Olympiacos Nicosia at the AEK Arena and opened the scoring with Moisov’s header in the 37th minute. Olympiacos stood firm in the first half, but could not stop the attacking monologue of the hosts. AEK wasted many chances before Acoran doubled their lead in stoppage time to seal a 2-0 win. 

Doxa Katokopias prevailed over Ermis Aradippou 2-1 at the Makario stadium. Vassilis Papafotis opened the scoring for the hosts 10 minutes into the game, before Tsoumou equalized quickly after for the visitors. The winner for Doxa came deep in the second half with Tiago Gomes finding the back of the net from the penalty spot. 

Anorthosis Famagusta recorded their first win of the season by defeating newly promoted side Alki Oroklinis 1-0. In a rather unentertaining game, Anorthosis grabbed the three points thanks to a late own goal by goalkeeper Stratilatis who scuffed the ball from Pranjic’s cross.
