Four Key Players Suspended for Bosnia

Four Key Players Suspended for Bosnia

Greece will be without four of their starting players in their next qualifier away to Bosnia.

Greece earned a valuable point in Brussels against Belgium on Saturday boosting their chances for a place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Greece held onto the point despite playing with 10-men for over 30 minutes, when Tachtsidis was harshly sent off for a second yellow card offense. Tzavellas was also sent off in the final minute of the game, meaning that both players will be suspended for Greece’s next qualifier away to Bosnia.

In addition, Samaris will also be suspended against Bosnia after receiving a yellow card in Belgium, accumulating his second in qualifying.

A reminder that Kyriakos Papadopoulos is unavailable for the trip to Bosnia as he serves a 2-match ban for his straight red card offense against Bosnia in November.

The crucial qualifier between Greece and Bosnia is scheduled for June 9th and the result of that match will likely decide who will claim second and possibly first place in the group.
