Fredette signs for Panathinaikos
As predicted, Panathinaikos BC have secured the services of Jimmer Fredette, signing a two-year deal with the American guard.
Panathinaikos released this following statement on Monday morning:
“Panathinaikos OPAP BC has signed a contract with Jimmer Fredette for the next two years.”
This is the first time when Fredette, 30, will play in Europe.
In 2011, Fredette was selected as the 10th overall pick in the NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, but he was subsequently traded to the Sacramento Kings. He later then played for the Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans and New York Knicks before moving to China with the Shanghai Sharks in 2016.
On November 11, 2017, Fredette recorded a career-high 75 points in a 136-137 loss to the Beikong Fly Dragons. During the 2018/2019 Chinese season, he registered an impressive average of 36.0 points, 5.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds.
Fredette played in six matches for the Phoenix Suns after joining the organisation in March, averaging 3.7 points, 1.3 assists and 1.2 rebounds in the NBA.
