Despite a hard fought match in the quarter-finals against Lithuania, the Greek team seemed well rested, refreshed for their semi-final against Spain. Greece took control of the game very early on and began to build a very comfortable lead. As the game went on, the Galanolefki kept the momentum, continuing to increase their advantage, and marched on to a rather easy 77-56 victory over the Furia Roja to secure their place in Sunday’s final against Israel, who defeated France in the other semi-final.

Once again Haralampopoulos led Greece with19 points while Karras finished behind the Panathinaikos player with 16 points. Koniaris had double digits with 10 points.

Greece and Israel will match up for the FIBA Europe U20 title on Sunday at 2:15 PM EST (9:15 PM local time) in Irakleio with hopes of the Galanolefki winning their third goal medal in the history of the FIBA Europe U20 championships.
