Gela to start for PAOK
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 1
|Levadiakos||0 - 0||PAOK|
PAOK failed to win their opening match in this year’s Superleague playing to a goalless draw in Livadeia with Levadiakos.
The first half went to waste for the Dikefalos tou Vora as they failed to create a notable chance on goal. Levadiakos entered the game as the better side and wasted two great chances in the opening ten minutes to take an early lead. At the half hour mark, both coaches were dismissed due to tension between the two bosses and the teams went into the break goalless.
The second half saw Levadiakos keep up the preusse and came inches away from finding the back of the net when Youssouf’s strike was tipped by Rei onto the post and stayed out. PAOK, who seemed incapable of scoring a goal, wasted the few chances they created and the final opportunity went to Levadiakos, but Rei once again said no to the hosts.
PAOK put together a troubling display to start the Superleague season and their midweek fixture in Europa League qualifying could have affected today's performance. Nonetheless, PAOK are already two points behind AEK and Olympiacos in the title race. Leviados will be delighted with a point from today’s fixture as they are one of the favorites to be relegated at the end of the season.
