In July 2017, Giakoumakis joined AEK from Platanias, however the striker has struggled to make any sort of impression in Athens. Since signing for AEK, the 24-year-old forward has only scored one Super League goal, with that particular marker being the winner against Olympiacos in Piraeus in February 2018.

Asides from that famous moment at the Karaiskakis Stadium. Giakoumakis hasn’t had much to cheer about with the Kitrinomavri, and AEK have now sent him on loan to OFI until June 30, 2019. OFI confirmed his arrival with this following statement:

“OFI 1925 FC can confirm the arrival of Giorgos Giakoumakis from AEK until June. Our team also has the option to purchase him on a permanent basis.

He will wear the number 10. Welcome to the OFI family, Giorgos!”

In an interview with OFI, Giakoumakis shared his feelings from the move: “It was my decision to come here and AEK respected my wishes. Having grown up here, I understand the size of OFI, and as a child I often came to the stadium to see the team play. My targets? First of all, I want to help OFI stay in the Super League, and I’m eager to score goals in order to assist the team. We need immediate results.”

This season, Heraklion born Giakoumakis made 11 appearances for AEK across all competitions, with his only goal coming in the Greek Cup.

Spanish midfielder Erik Moran is also leaving the reigning Greek champions.

At the moment, Moran is located in Spain, while his agent is in Athens sorting out the details of his upcoming transfer. According to various reports, the 27-year-old will join Malaga on loan for the rest of the current campaign, and if the team earn promotion to La Liga, Moran will stay there on a permanent basis.

For the most part, Moran has found himself on the fringes of the AEK team, only participating in 10 matches in all tournaments this season while scoring the one goal in a Greek Cup tie against Volos NFC. His value is rated at 750 thousand euros by Transfermarkt.
