The worst feared scenario for PAOK goalkeeper Panagiotis Glykos came true on Saturday. The Greece international suffered an injury in training and the medical results revealed a torn ACL injury and a ruptured meniscus. The injury is expected to leave Glykos out for at least four to six months meaning he will miss the remaining playoff games, preseason training, and all of Greece’s qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Backup goalkeeper Brkic will be under PAOK’s goalposts for their remaining playoff fixtures and the club will likely look to sign a goalkeeper in the offseason.
Glykos will undergo surgery on Sunday and we all wish him the very best.
