Greece have plunged to 5th place in FIBA’s Power rankings before the upcoming Eurobasket and now go into the tournament not favored to win a medal. The 3-place drop in the rankings is due to the absence of NBA star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, who will miss out due to an injury. In addition to the Greek Freak’s absence, Greece’s mediocre performance at the Acropolis International tournament saw their ranking fall.

Spain remains first and the favorites to win the tournament while Serbia climbed into second place. France is now in third place and Croatia are in fourth with Greece sitting behind in 5th.

Below is the top-10 in FIBA’s most recent Power Rankings:

  1. Spain
  2. Serbia
  3. France
  4. Croatia
  5. Greece
  6. Latvia
  7. Lithuania
  8. Georgia
  9. Slovenia
  10. Turkey
