Greeks Abroad Review: Diamantakos strikes twice in German second tier
AGONAsport’s Shaun Nicolaides rounds up the performances of Greeks playing in other leagues in this week’s Greeks Abroad Review.
In Germany, 25-year old forward Dimitris Diamantakos was in excellent form for St. Pauli in the second division, hitting the target twice in a 4:1 triumph over Magdeburg. However, in France, it was a totally different story for Marseille striker Konstantinos Mitroglou as he touched the ball a mere three times in a Ligue 1 match against Angers.
Left-back Konstantinos Stafylidis returned to the Augsburg line-up in the Bundesliga, Sokratis Papastathopoulos gave a solid performance with Arsenal defeating Burnley, and goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos helped Benfica beat Braga 6:2 in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
