Specifically, the 45-year-old manager is looking to bolster the team’s spine. It is reported that the new boss is looking to add a central defender, a defensive midfielder, and a striker before Olympiacos enter the fray in the 3rd Qualifying Round which begins at the end of July.
As always this time of year, rumors abound as to who the club are looking at. Names such as Gonzalo Rodriguez, Steven Defour, and Odjidja Ofoe are consistently popping up as players Olympiacos are honing in on.
Regardless, it does appear that this summer, the club’s director of football, Armando Husillos will have the final say on who comes in. While Hasi has conferred with the likes of Darko Kovacevic and Francois Modesto, Husillos appears to be the one who will ultimately confirm the moves.
It is expected that the club will move swiftly in the next week or two to add players so as not to repeat the same roster mistakes that contributed to their early Champions’ League exit last summer.
