Iraklis came away with a very important 0:1 victory on the road against their city rivals Apollon Pontou. Perone’s goal with six minutes remaining separated the sides at the final whistle. Before Perone struck gold, both teams had a great chance to find an opener with Papadopoulos (4) and Brito’s (75) efforts that were denied by the woodwork. The win gives Iraklis a major boost in their hopes for survival as they moved up to tenth in the standings along with AE Karaiskakis on 34 points. Apollon Pontou, who are fighting for promotion, dropped down to fourth along with Panachaiki and Ergotelis on 40 points

Ergotelis recorded a massive 0:1 win over Panachaiki in Patra to rejoin the fight for second place and a chance at promotion. In what was an overall poor match, Ergotelis stunned the hosts with four minutes remaining when Kwateng’s first touch on the ball ended up in the back of the net to give Ergotelis a valuable three points. The Cretan side are now in a three way tie for fourth on 40 points along with Panachaiki and Apollon Pontou.

Leaders Volos NFC continued their drop in form as they played to a 1:1 away to Kerkyra. The visitors opened the scoring through Galitsios in the 67th minute but Mota equalized eight minutes later to salvage a point for the islanders. Kerkyra finished the match with 10-men after Kouros was sent off in second half stoppage time. Volos maintain a nine point lead atop the standings after Apollon Larissas failed to win away to AOX Kissamikos. Kerkyra are in tied for seventh with AOX Kissamikos on 38 points.

Apollon Larissas failed to gain ground on leaders Volos NFC after playing to a 1:1 draw in Crete against AOX Kissamikos. The game was decided in the final stages of the first half as the visitors opened the scoring through a brilliant free kick from Brambilla (40) before Kassos equalized on the stroke of halftime. Apollon Larissas sit one point clear of third placed Platanias while Kissamikos are tied for seventh with Kerkyra on 38 points.

Third placed Platanias are now within one point of Apollon Larissas after easily dispatching 10-man Irodotos 0:4 on the road. After a goalless first half, Irodotos’ Andreou was flagged for a penalty and given a straight red card in the 65th minute, which was successfully converted by Platanias’ Loukinas. The same player doubled the visitors’ lead just seven minutes later and goals from Karagounis (77) and Papoutsogiannopoulos (90) saw Platanias come away with an emphatic 0:4 win. The result sees Irodotos in 13th with 25 points.

In other action, AE Karaiskakis had an easy afternoon in Laconia as they took down Sparti 0:4, while Trikala’s fight for survival took a major setback after falling 2:1 on the road against bottom of the table Aiginiakos.

Doxa Dramas were awarded a 3:0 victory over Aittitos Spaton, who have been removed from the league.
