Inter Milan & Valencia Send Scouts for Mitroglou
Both Inter Milan and Valencia sent representatives to Benfica’s match against Porto to scout out Kostas Mitroglou.
Kostas Mitroglou is one of the hottest strikers in Europe and his current form has caught the eye of many clubs within Europe. This past weekend, both Inter Milan and Valencia sent scouts to watch Kostas Mitroglou perform in the derby between Benfica and FC Porto.
Although the Greek striker did not find the back of the net against, Mitroglou was a constant threat on goal with Casillas denying the 29-year old on multiple occasions.
Both Inter Milan and Valencia have begun planning for the new season and are looking to strengthen their rosters for the new year. Inter Milan, who are close to a deal with Kostas Manolas, have a spending budget of over €150 million. Benfica have a €40 million price tag on Mitroglou and are willing to begin negotiations with an offer near or above that amount.
A reminder that Mitroglou is Europe’s second highest scorer in all competitions for 2017 with 16 goals (tied with Lewandowski), only behind Barcelona’s Lionel Messi who has scored 18 goals since the start of the new year. Mitroglou has scored a career-high 25 goals this year for the Eagles.
