Iraklis Summon Up Survivor Spirit

Kerkyra 0 - 3 Iraklis
Leozinho 35'
Donis 40'
Kouros 76'

Struggling Iraklis pulled off a surprise 2-0 away victory at Kerkyra on Sunday to give their SuperLeague survival hopes a huge boost.

Savvas Pantelidis’ battling side enjoyed a five-minute purple patch towards the end of the first half and managed to go into half-time two goals up thanks to goals from winger Christos Donis (35), who is on loan from Panathinaikos, and Brazilian forward Leozinho (40).

Defender Alexandros Kouros capped a fine performance by Iraklis with a third goal with 14 minutes left to rubber-stamp a previous three-point haul.

While the win didn’t allow the Salonica club to lift them out of the relegation zone, it moved them onto 19 points, just three adrift of Levadiakos, who occupy 14th place and safety.
