The former Greek captain showed that he is still in form as he netted two goals with the Inter Milan Legends in a charity match at Stamford Bridge against the Chelsea Legends. Karagounis scored his side’s third and fourth goals with two, well placed strikes as Inter prevailed with a 4:1 win over the hosts.

The charity match was played in memory of Ray Wilkins, a Chelsea icon who died in April.
There were a host of stars who featured for either side, including Hernan Crespo, Michael Ballack, Eidur Gudjohnsen, former Panathinaikos man Michael Essien, and former Olympiacos man Esteban Cambiasso.

Former Chelsea manager, Roberto Di Matteo, put the hosts on the board, but the Inter legends, who were the better side in the first half, scored two goals through Marco Materazzi and David Suazo to pull ahead. Karagounis, who was the best player on the pitch, sealed the victory for Inter with two second half goals.

Karagounis will be back in action on June 9th when the Euro 2004 Legends match up with the Spain Legends in Patras, in another charity match.
