Kastanos renews with Juventus until 2022
Cypriot attacking midfielder, Grigoris Kastanos, has renewed his contract with Italian giants Juventus until 2022.
Kastanos, who will turn 21 later in January and is regarded as the biggest prospect in Cypriot football, has been with Juventus since 2014 after he impressed with the Enosis Neon Paralimniou youth teams. Coming from the village of Sotira in a part of the Famagusta district that is not occupied by Turks, Kastanos has enjoyed two loan spells with Pescara in Serie A and Zulte Waregem in Belgium in 2017.
The 21-year old is now playing with the Juventus Primavera team (the U23 side) and his good performances saw Massimiliano Allegri call him up to the first team in a fixture against Atalanta in December, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Miralem Pjanic, Paulo Dybala, and many other Juventus stars.
The contract renewal shows that Juventus believe in his talents and it came at a time when Parma and Perugia were looking to snag him on loan. It is great news for Kastanos and Cypriot football as a whole, with the fans awaiting to see how he will move on in the future.
