A six-goal thriller in Crete saw Xanthi walk away with a 2-4 victory over Ergotelis in Wednesday’s Greek Cup action. The visitors took a 2-goal lead with Triadis’ double in the 20th and 26th minutes, however two early second half goals from Ergotelis with Effort (50) and Rovitihis (58-penalty) pulled the hosts level. Kike quickly put Xanthi back in front in the 64th minute and an 81st minute strike from Jendrisek secured Xanthi the three points and a place in the next round of the competition.

In the same group, Panetolikos defeated Panserraikos 2-0 with goals in each half from Paulo (8) and Markovski (85), giving the Agrinio side their first points of the campaign. The results leave Xanthi in first place with Xanthi on six points while Panetolikos and Panserraikos are tied with three points. Ergotelis are last with zero points.

Larissa are back in the mix of things in Group H after their 3-0 thumping of Panachaiki. The Thessaly club opened the scoring early on in the 9th minute with Giannitsanis to take a 1-0 lead into the break. An early second half strike from Perrone doubled AEL’s lead in the 51st minute and Krizman capped off a great night for the hosts with his 78th minute goal. The result moves AEL up to three points, tied with Panachaiki, with one game of remaining in group play.
