Robert Mak, who has been training in Holland for a few days now with PAOK, will continue his career in Thessaloniki on a one year loan deal from Zenit Saint Petersburg. The Thessalonikis officially announced the deal on Tuesday and according to Lubos Michel, the agreement with Zenit includes a €3.5 million buyout clause at the end of the season.

Robert Mak joined Zenit last summer after two great seasons with PAOK. In his first season with the Dikefalos tou Vora, Mak scored 8 goals and gave five assists in 35 appearances before having a breakout season one year later where he scored a career-high 20 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions.

PAOK also announced the signing of their starting goalkeeper for the new season, Rodrigo Rey. The 26-year old joins PAOK after a three year stay with Godoy Cruz in Argentina. In his last two seasons with Godoy Cruz, Rey made 76 appearances helping his side return to the Copa Libertadores while also being named the second best goalkeeper in Argentina.

PAOK will be Rey’s first European side and the 26-year old will be the club’s number 1, taking the place of the injured Panagiotis Glykos, who is expected to miss the first part of the season.
