Manolas fought through injury to play against Belgium
Kostas Manolas refused to let an injury hold him off the pitch during Sunday’s qualifier against Belgium.
According to gazzetta.gr, Kostas Manolas fought through an injury on Sunday to make sure he was on the pitch for Greece’s crucial qualifier against Belgium. The Roma defender felt tightness in his leg muscles and other small problems, which affected him during the pre-match warm up.
However, despite his injury concerns, Kostas Manolas told Michael Skibbe that he will play against Belgium at his own cost and risk. Not only did Manolas play the full 90 minutes, but was one of the best Greek players on the pitch.
Greece faced Belgium with many injury problems including star striker Kostas Mitroglou and captain Vasilis Torosidis, who both missed out on Sunday.
