Manolas ruled out for match against Estonia, Risvanis called up
Greece will be without defender, Kostas Manolas, in their final fixture in the UEFA Nations League against Estonia on Sunday. Spiros Risvanis was called up to take his place in the roster.
The Roma player suffered an injury during Thursday’s Nations League match at home to Finland and was subbed off in the first half. After undergoing further medical tests, he was diagnosed with a first degree sprain and the medical team ruled him unavailable for Greece’s final match in the UEFA Nations League.
As a result, Atromitos’ Spiros Risvanis was called up to take Manolas’ place in the roster. Dimitris Siovas, who replaced Manolas on Thursday, is expected to replace Manolas in Greece’s Starting XI against bottom of the table Estonia.
Kostas Mitroglou also suffered an injury and is doubtful for Sunday’ fixture while Dimitris Kourbelis’ injury is not of concern and should be available for Anastasiadis.
Although the Ethniki cannot claim top spot in the group (Finland has secured first place), it is important for Greece to finish second in the group as it could lead to a place in the Euro 2020 qualifying playoffs under certain circumstances.
