Olympiacos cruised to their biggest win in the Greek Basket League this season as the Piraeus giants cruised to a 104-54 demolition of Koroivos in Amaliada on Monday night.
In the concluding fixture to Matchday 20 in the Greek top flight, Vangelis Mantzaris posted his first-ever 20-point night to lead Olympiacos to their sixth-straight domestic win.
Bobby Brown also posted 20 points on a night when coach Yiannis Sfairopoulos opted to rest the likes of Vassilis Spanoulis and Georgios Printezis.
Monday night marked just the second time this season Olympiacos reached the century mark of points in domestic action, but the 50-point margin of victory is the Erythrolefki’s largest margin of victory this season.
Shaquille Hines notched 17 points for Koroivos in the defeat as the home side’s offense stalled after the first quarter with a combined 33 points from the start of the second frame until the final buzzer.
Olympiacos remain locked in at second place, four points behind Panathinaikos; however, with Lavrio’s loss to AEK the Piraeus giants have now extended their gap on the former to three points.
The loss sees Koroivos’ streak slip to five-straight defeats as the risk of relegation continues to grow week-after-week.
