Mavropanos hit by new injury blow
Konstantinos Mavropanos, who has struggled with injuries since joining Arsenal in January 2018, will miss the next two months with the same groin problem.
The groin injury has prevented Mavropanos from training as normal during the summer, and on Friday, new reports confirmed that the talented 21-year-old will spend the next two months on the sidelines. This also means Arsenal will not be able to send Mavropanos out on loan, something which the Gunners had reportedly been planning to do.
Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, does not have Mavropanos in his plans for the 2019/2020 season and the young centre-back had been expected to leave the Londoners.
Since he left PAS Giannina for Arsenal in January 2018, Mavropanos has only made a grand total of seven competitive appearances for the first team. Arsenal paid PAS 2.1 million euros in order to sign Mavropanos after the defender had impressed with his performances in the Super League.
Transfermarkt rates his value at three million.
