The Men’s team was drawn into group three (out of four groups) along with Croatia, Turkey, and Netherlands in a group that will see both the Greeks and Croatians as favorites to fight for top spot. The top team from each group will earn a direct ticket to the quarter-finals of the competition while the second and third placed teams will advance to the playoffs (stage before the quarter-finals).
The women’s national team will compete in group one (out of two total groups) along with Israel, Netherlands, France, Italy, and Croatia, a tricky draw to say the least. The top four teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.
The European championships will be played this summer from July 14-28 in Barcelona, Spain at the Piscines Bernat Picornell venue. Similar to previous editions of the competition, Greece will be expected to be one of the better national team sides in both the men’s and women's competitions with hopes of bringing home a medal in either or both categories.
