Missas announces Greece’s 12-man roster for Eurobasket 2017
After Greece’s final pre-Eurobasket test against Serbia, Kostas Missas announced Greece’s 12-man roster for the upcoming Eurobasket tournament. Giannoulis Larentzakis and Dinos Mitoglou were left out.
Youngsters Giannoulis Larentzakis and Dinos Mitoglou were left out of Greece’s final 12-man roster for the upcoming European championships. The two Greek prospects were called up by Kostas Missas to gain experience with the national team as they will surely be in his call ups in Greece’s upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
Kostas Missas will take 12 players to the European championships with the goal of coming back home with a medal. Although the Episimi Agapimeni will be without NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo due to an injury, the players have stated that the national team has a plethora of talent that will be capable of making up for his absence.
The 12-man roster is below:
Guards: Nick Calathes (Panathinaikos), Kostas Sloukas (Fenerbahce), Nikos Pappas (Panathinaikos), Vaggelis Mantzaris (Olympiacos)
Forwards: Thanasis Antetokounmpo (Panathinaikos), Dimitris Agravanis (Olympiacos), Kostas Papanikolaou (Olympiacos), Ioannis Papetrou (Olympiacos), Georgios Printezis (Olympiacos)
Centers: Gergios Bogris (Olympiacos), Ioannis Bourousis (Zhejiang Lions), Georgios Papagiannis (Sacramento Kings)
