Napoli confirm Manolas signing
On Saturday, Napoli confirmed the arrival of Kostas Manolas, with the Greek centre-back penning a five-year contract with the Serie A side.
Napoli released this following statement on their social media platforms:
Manolas has signed a five-year contract with Napoli through to the completion of the 2023/2024 campaign.
In late June, AS Roma had already revealed that Manolas was leaving the capital club, with Napoli activating his release clause of 36 million euros.
Transfermarkt rates Manolas’ value at 45 million.
Manolas has played in Italy since transferring to Roma from Olympiacos for 15 million in the summer of 2014. After moving to Rome, Manolas has participated in 156 Serie A matches, scoring five goals and six assists. The talented 28-year-old defender scored the famous winning goal for Roma against Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the 2017/2018 UEFA Champions League.
Amadou Diawara has moved in the opposite direction from Napoli to Roma for 18 million as a part of the deal.
Reports have suggested that Manolas will earn around 4.5 million per-year in Naples. Napoli finished in second place of the 2018/2019 Serie A competition.
