OFFICIAL: Tachtsidis signs with Olympiacos
Panagiotis Tachtsidis is officially Olympiacos’ fourth signing of the summer.

The surprise reports of Tachtsidis’ move to Olympiacos were made official after the Greek international successfully passed the necessary medical tests and signed a new deal with the Superleague champions. It is still unknown if Olympiacos signed the Greece international on a loan deal or a permanent move, however reports from Italy state that Tachtsidis joined the Piraeus side from Torino on a permanent deal rumored at €1 million.
Tachtsidis is Olympiacos’ fourth signing of the summer after Risvanis, Koutris, and Cisse. After completing the deal, Tachtsidis stated “I am very happy that I am a part of the Olympiacos family. I saw a project that interested me greatly. I immediately responded yes.”
He went on to say “The message I want to send to the Olympiacos fans is that I did not come here for tourism. I am coming here for titles. The season’s goals is the UEFA Champions League and to progress as far as we can. I will give my 100% to accomplish all of our goals.”
Tachtsidis began his professional career at AEK where he remained from 2007-2010. Since then, he has played in Italy with numerous teams including Genoa, Cesena, Grosseto, Verona, Roma, Catania, Torino, and most recently Cagliari. Last season he played at Cagliari on loan from Torino making 26 appearances with six assists.
At the age of 26 he has made 128 appearances in the Serie A while scoring 7 goals. He has been a Greece international since 2012 registering 20 caps with one goal. His best moment with the Ethniki was his participation in the 2014 World Cup were Greece made it to the last 16 of the tournament.
