Olympiacos extended their EuroLeague win streak to three games with a 92-70 blowout win over Buducnost VOLI Podgorica at the Peace and Friendship Stadium on Friday night…
Zach LeDay led the way with 28 points as Olympiacos overwhelmed EuroLeague newcomers Buducnost VOLI Podgorica 92-70 at the Peace and Friendship Stadium on Friday night.
LeDay’s best performance since joining Olympiacos in the offseason was a major catalyst as the Piraeus giants extended their EuroLeague win streak to three games.
Vassilis Spanoulis was also impressive on the night as he tallied 17 points, while Georgios Printezis and Nikola Milutinov poured in 11 and 10 points respectively.
Earl Clark led Buducnost with 15 points and Nemanja Gordic added 14 points as the Montenegrins were handed a reality check in Piraeus after last week’s shock win over CSKA Moscow.
Buducnost hung around in the first quarter as Olympiacos claimed a 25-20 lead out of the gate before the Erythrolefki extended their lead to seven points (44-37) ahead of halftime.
It was in the third quarter that Olympiacos did the majority of their damage as David Blatt’s men peppered Buducnost with a 32-14 run in the frame.
Now leading by 25 points, the lopsided lead gave Blatt the ability to utilize his bench in the final frame as Olympiacos’ starters earned some extra rest ahead of next week’s clash with Zalgiris Kaunas away from home.
