Olympiacos had a comfortable 13-6 win over AN Brescia to continue their domination in the LEN Champions League.
The Erythrolefkoi got off to a good start, taking a 4-2 lead after the first period of play. They would extend this lead, as they were up 7-2 going into halftime. They would continue to carry this momentum into the second half, as they found themselves ahead 11-4 after the third period of play. Ultimately, the Greeks were comfortably able to win by a score of 13-6.
Konstantinos Genidounias led Olympiacos with six goals. Georgios Dervisis was also a key offensive contributor, as he added two goals for the Erythrolefkoi.
Olympiacos now remain in first place in Group A, with 31 points after 12 games. Barceloneta from Spain are in second with 27 points, and Dynamo Moscow are in third with 22 points. With just two matches remaining in the group stage, Olympiacos are the clear favorite to win the group. Having already qualified for the quarterfinals, Olympiacos will hope to finish in first in order to get a lighter draw for the knockout rounds.
However, things won’t be easy for Olympiacos, as their last two games are against arguably the two strongest opponents in Group A. The next game for Olympiacos is on April 28, as they will travel to Russia to take on Dynamo Moscow. After that, they will conclude group play on May 9, as the Erythrolefkoi will host Barceloneta.
