Hollis Thompson notched 18 points as Olympiacos reached the win column for the first time in the Greek Basket League this season with a 85-56 win over Kymis.
On the heels of an opening round win in the EuroLeague against Baskonia midweek, Olympiacos built on that momentum on the domestic scene.
Brian Roberts made his Olympiacos debut after an injury kept him out of last weekend's derby against Panathinaikos. Although the summer signing didn't manufacture any points on Sunday, Olympiacos had four scorers reach double digits.
Vassilis Spanoulis missed his third consecutive game for the Erythrolefki, but that didn't slow down the team's offence as Olympiacos built a 21-10 lead by the end of the first quarter -- Thompson notching 13 of his side's 21 points in the frame.
Olympiacos continued to stroll in the second quarter, and it was not long before the Olympiacos lead doubled; the Piraeus club sporting a 43-23 lead at halftime.
News came midweek that summer signing Kim Tillie would be out for a minimum of 4 months after a leg injury he suffered midweek was deemed to require surgery.
Adding to the injury woes for Yiannis Sfairopoulos, Olympiacos' bench showed their depth in the third quarter as the lead built up to 61-35 heading into the final frame.
Kymis' poor shooting from the free throw like continued to dig a hole for the club, and by midway through the fourth quarter the deficit was 31 points. Kymis would salvage some pride by putting up 21 points in the final quarter.
Olympiacos were not to be outdone, however, as the visitors notched 24 points themselves in the final frame -- padding a points differential that might be decisive at season's end.
Olympiacos' next challenge comes in the EuroLeague midweek as Unicaja Malaga travel to Greece, while Kymis will look to record their first win of the season when they travel to face PAOK in Thessaloniki.
