On February 13, Olympiacos faced Panathinaikos at the OAKA Indoor Hall in the semi-finals of the Greek Cup, but they left the match at half-time in protest against the officiating with the Greens leading 40-25. As a punishment, Olympiacos were handed a 0-20 defeat in the particular match, while also having six points docked from the 2018/2019 Basket League table for forfeiting the game.

However, after Olympiacos submitted an appeal, the points deduction from the Basket League standings has been reduced from six to two.

Originally, the punishment which Olympiacos received was in line with Basket League regulations, but due to the match being a part of the Greek Cup competition, the Erythrolefki appealed for the club to be sanctioned in accordance with Cup rules. Their appeal was subsequently accepted.

The second six-point deduction for forfeiting a Basket League meeting against Panathinaikos in Piraeus remains in place, meaning Olympiacos have lost a grand total of eight points from the 2018/2019 standings.

Olympiacos have revealed that they won’t play against Panathinaikos again in Greek tournaments if foreign officials are not appointed for those specific games.

The Piraeus organisation will host Kolossos Rhodes at the Peace and Friendship on Sunday. Olympiacos sit in seventh place of the table with 31 points from 21 matches.

Clubs between first and eighth qualify for the playoffs. Teams in 13th and 14th suffer relegation to the second tier.
