Olympiacos respond with big win over Vouliagmeni

Olympiacos responded to their game two loss to Vouliagmeni by cruising to a big 11:5 win in game three of the A1 Water Polo League finals series.
After falling in game two of the A1 Water Polo League finals series in penalties, Olympiacos responded with a rather easy game three win over Vouliagmeni. The Reds defeated their counterparts 11:5 at the Papastrateio Hall in Piraeus to take a 2:1 lead in the series and now need just one more victory to claim their seventh straight league title.
Olympiacos got off to an empathic start by pulling ahead 3:0 just 2.5 minutes into the game. Vouliagmeni fought back to pull within one, 3:2, but goals from Obradovic and Mourikis re-gave Olympiacos a three-goal cushion at the end of the first quarter. After a defensive minded second quarter, Olympiacos increased their led by one to go into half-time ahead 6:2.
Olympiacos put the game away with two quick goals in the third quarter to grab a six goal lead, 8;2 and the period finished with the hosts comfortably in charge 9:3. The final quarter simply confirmed Olympiacos’ win, 11:5, as the six-time defending champions took a 2:1 lead in the best of five series.
Game four will take place on Monday, May 27th in Vouliagmeni.
