A solid defensive performance from Olympiacos led the way as the Erythrolefki took down AEK 67:76 in Saturday’s Basket League derby. After a well-balanced first half, Olympiacos took control in the second half and increased their lead to as many as 15 points (51:66) in the fourth quarter, with the hosts unable to chalk up a comeback. The result leaves AEK winless for three consecutive regular season league matches for the first time in three seasons.

AEK managed to pull ahead at the start of the third quarter (40:39), however an 8-0 run from Olympiacos put them ahead at 40:47. AEK pulled back within one point (48:49), but with three minutes remaining in the third quarter, Olympiacos went on another run and took a 50:57 lead into the final quarter. The Olympiacos defense did well to shut down AEK in the opening stages of the final quarter and Olympiacos took complete control by increasing their lead to as many as 15 points (51:66) to celebrate victory in the end with a 67:76 scoreline.
