Anagennisi Karditsas came away with an important 2:1 win over Ergotelis in their fight to avoid the drop. The hosts took control of the match early on grabbing a 2:0 advantage by the 18th minute with goals from Sountoura (7) and Plavoukas (18). Ergotelis managed to pull one back in the 53rd minute through Tselios, however the hosts, who finished the game with ten men, held on for the win. The result moves Anagennisi up to 40 points, tied with Ergotelis, Sparti, and Aiginiakos in a four way tie as one of the four teams will be relegated in the final two fixtures.

Panserraikos were mathematically relegated to the third division after their 1:1 draw against Panachaiki and the other results from Wednesday’s fixtures. The team from Serres sit on 33 points, seven behind the safety zone, a difference that cannot be made up in the final two matches. They will join Acharnaikos, Veria, Panegialios, and Kallithea in the third division. One more team will be demoted to the Gamma Ethniki in the final two fixtures (mentioned above).

Like Anagennisi, Aiginiakos grabbed an important 2:0 win over relegated Kallithea. The hosts scored two second half goals with Peric (71) and Kushta (82) helping push the Aiginio side to victory. Aiginiakos finished the game with 9-men when Sofianis and Polyzos were sent off in second half stoppage times after picking up second yellow cards.

Sparti continue to sit in the trouble zone as they tasted defeat to promoted Aris. The visitors opened the scoring in first half stoppage time with Diamantopoulos’ spot kick and Pasas (63) and Diamantopoulos (76) formed the final scoreline. Aris continue to sit just one point behind the leaders, OFI, with two games remaining.

In other action, Apollon Pontou defeated Apollon Larissas 1:0 while Trikala defeated AOX Kissamikos 2:1. Panegialios and AE Karaiskakis played to a goalless draw.

Doxa Dramas and OFI were awarded all three points against Veria and Acharnaikos, who have withdrawn from the league.
