Marko Markovski had given the home side a huge boost with the opening goal after just nine minutes at the Livadeia Municipal Stadium, but goals from Sotiris Tsiloulis after 28 minutes and captain Panagiotis Korbos in the 57th minute turned the game on its head.

The outcome left Levadiakos stranded in 15th place, six points from safety (promotion/relegation playoff) with just two matches to play, but they cannot overtake 13th placed OFI due to an inferior head-to-head tiebreaker (OFI defeated Levadiakos 2:0, Levadiakos defeated OFI 2:1) - thus meaning their eight-year stay in the SuperLeague came to an end.

For Panionios, the Nea Smyrni club’s recent stuttering form was put to bed as they moved up to eighth place with 35 points and clear of any danger, which will come as much relief to their long-suffering fans.

PAS Giannina slipped into the final relegation place of 14th spot after being held to a 0-0 draw by Asteras, who are also involved in what is becoming a thrilling battle to avoid the drop between five clubs.

Chances were few and far between for both sides in a scrappy affair at the Zosimades, and the result certainly helps Asteras more than PAS, who were furious with match referee Ioannis Papadopoulos.

Papadopoulos gave a few questionable decisions during the match, the most controversial being to chalk off a goal scored by PAS striker Sandi Križman just two minutes into the second for offside which replays suggested should have stood.

With two rounds of fixtures to go, there are only four points separating five clubs, with OFI, Asteras, Xanthi and Larissa all looking over their shoulder at PAS.
