Thanks to a 2-3 away win in the first leg, PAOK were in a good position going into the second leg. After comfortably taking the first set 25-16, the Greeks found themselves closer to advancing to the second round of qualifying. The second set was closer at the beginning, with PAOK holding a narrow 8-6 lead. However, they would soon take 17 of the next 23 points to win the second set by a score of 25-12. The third set would prove to be the closest, however PAOK still won it 25-19 to clinch their spot in the next round.
PAOK will now face Turkey’s Istanbul BBSK. The first leg will be held in Thessaloniki on October 23, and the second leg will take place in Turkey on October 30. The winner will then advance to the third (and final) qualifying round. It should be noted that PAOK took part in the group stages last year, finishing third out of four teams with a 2-4 record.
